ACCOMPANIMENT/COACHING
For musicians in the Los Angeles area, I can provide piano, harpsichord, or organ collaboration services in any style—classical or contemporary—informed by years of experience and education. Every accompaniment job is approached with immense care and attention to detail, and I strongly believe that the job of any collaborative artist is to make sure that the entire musical experience is as artistic and impactful as possible. To that end, I offer tuning, recording, arrangement, and production services at a discount to any client who is working with me as an accompanist, and at the end of the day, I will do everything in my power to support your recording or performance to the fullest. For vocalists, I have already coached a long list of talented singers that grows every month, and can provide you with the expertise you need to bring your singing to the next level. Reach out to me with your needs and we’ll pursue this musical journey together!
PIANO/PRODUCTION LESSONS
One of the most crucial aspects of music is the passing down of musical excitement, expression, and expertise to the next generation. While each person is born with their own unique musical proclivities, no successful musician can exist in a vacuum without the guidance and instruction of others who have walked the path before them. I owe a monumental debt to the teachers who have taken so much of their time and patience to advise me, and I would be happy to be a part of passing along that great legacy to you or your children. I believe strongly in the necessity of a classical foundation, but equally strongly in the importance of additional skills such as theoretical analysis, improvisation, composition, and contemporary playing/singing. Get in touch with me for a free consult about whether this could be an exciting journey for us to pursue together!
RECORDING/STREAMING
For musicians in the Los Angeles area, I can provide high quality recording services at a discounted rate due to my lack of affiliation with a larger company. You will also receive the personal attention and customization that you frequently lose with a full production outfit. I will record your event from multiple acoustical angles, mix the recording, and provide you with a pristine-quality final product. I believe strongly in the importance of intentionally structured recording techniques that allow for a simultaneously rich and clear result, instead of the highly variable sound created by the placement of a single microphone anywhere in the room. I do offer 4K video recording, live streaming services to YouTube Live, and with enough advance notice and flexibility, I can provide a location for studio-style recording as well. TRANSCRIPTION/TRANSPOSITION
Occasionally, musicians find themselves in the position of needing a copy or a key of musical material that is not commercially available. Whether it is an optional instrumental part not included in a standard choral score, an improvised jazz solo, or a song that has never been published in your key, years of careful ear-training have prepared me for any transcription challenge. Unlike many other transposition services, I ensure that all markings and subtleties of phrasing, beam direction, note groupings, etc. are preserved from the original you provide to the transposed copy you receive. Prices vary widely based on the complexity of the request. I am not allowed by law to transcribe copyrighted material, but if you’re curious about whether I can help, get in touch and I’ll happily give you a quote for free!
TUNING
Keeping your piano in tune can seem like an uphill battle, but with consistent upkeep and basic climate control, it is not an insurmountable challenge. Trained through the American School of Piano Tuning, I have years of tuning experience on pianos from the smallest of spinets to full Steinway concert grands and everything in between. For $200 plus travel fees if applicable, I will tune your piano to good as new. Depending on the condition and make of the piano, this may be anywhere from a 1 hr. to 4 hr. job, and some especially difficult instruments may require a follow-up tuning 1-2 weeks after the initial tuning for stabilization. However, it is ALWAYS advisable to keep your instrument in the best possible shape, as an unkept instrument will ultimately become more expensive to repair than to replace. Reach out to me with your needs, and we’ll have your instrument sounding in tip-top tone!
